CONCERT FOR THE CODA JAZZ FUND

Gem Theater

eaturing Kansas City’s
premiere musicians and vocalists, the 1st Annual Benefit Concert for
the Coda Jazz Fund, will highlight the talents of nationally acclaimed
jazz saxophonists Bobby Watson and Ahmad Alaadeen, along with
vocalists Marilyn Maye, Kevin Mahogany and Ida McBeth - just to name a few.
The American Jazz Museum All-Star band, along with Kansas City’s own
Elder Statesmen of Jazz will round-out the evening’s blend of
straight-head and contemporary jazz performances, while the Master of
Ceremonies, Emanuel Cleaver II shares his commentary and reminiscences
to bring the audience along on a journey to our jazz past,
while keeping focus on the bright and bold future of jazz, yet to
come.
